A Method of Separation

2019, 44”X44”, Cloth, Hanhnemuhle photo rag

A tessellated mesh of the three dimensional form of the artists heart is unraveled and unwrapped to be laid flat on a two dimensional surface. Enmeshed with the 3D wiring of the pixels that makes it up, the heart becomes a vessel that contains. Like a Cartographer, the artist maps her memories with longitudes and latitudes. She casts a net trying to capture the volatility of her existence, uncovering some immortal bonds that she is unable to shake off, no matter how many ages have passed. Here unchartered territories and forgotten lonely islands coexist, as if to say: this is where I have already been, this is where I am yet to go.
